Everlast Professional Kangaroo Speed Bag-7x10 Review

I've tried about six different speed bags, and they were all flawed in some way. Too slow, asymmetrical, etc, awkward size, too fragile, etc. This doesn't have any of those problems! It's a great size and has a nice bounce to it. It's more expensive than the $25ish bags, but it's worth it.

I just purchased this lamp. I am most satisfied at first use.

Pros:
+ sturdy design
+ light weight
+ perfect shape and size in hand (for regular and kubotan-style use)
+ recharging battery included, on USB cable (no longer care about battery life, especially when travelling)

Cons:
+ on/off switch between modes a bit confusing. I leave it on strobe at first to get immediate self-defense effect and switch to other modes for other uses
+ rechargeable battery lifetime ?

I also own an EagleTac G25C2 MkII at 1000 lumen, which is also excellent.
Twice the power really shows between the two, BUT
+ the G25C2 does not fit as esily, if at all, in regular pockets (size and weight). Belt-mount is preferable.
+ the MH1C has whiter light, which is more blinding. The strobe speed is also more annoying. This offsets (though not completely) the lower-output drawback.

All in all, I use the MH1C on-the-go and the G25C2 at my bed side.
A sregular lamps, both provide more light than needed in most cases.

For self-defense, if I would have time, I would grab one in each hand and alternatively switch them on and off, to disorient an attacker and prevent him from knowing where the kubotan blow would come from at night.

Cold Steel Brave Heart Kraton Handle (SecureEx Sheath) Review

I ordered this knife when in Iraq in 2008. First of all it got there faster than most of my care packages did. It served me well in all purposes from opening boxes to slicing 550 cords; I even used it to cut some thin gauge metal wiring, and it kept its edge surprisingly well. The sheath is solid and the handle is comfortable, the clip on the sheath makes it an excellent boot knife and holds the blade solidly with no retainer other than pressure. I would recommend this as an awesome boot knife in addition to any larger knife one may carry in the field.

The fit on this is really nice, it has shaping and the top scroll stiching adds interest. Love the Robin's egg blue interior. I would have liked more pockes ( only 3 inside; one small zipper (coins?) and two larger non secured pockets). The interior pockets on in the lightweight lining so it won't hold much weight. I wish the two interior larger pockets (located as waist) had a velcro tab to ensure closure, about the right size for passports. It's not too heavy and is really stylish for a pocketed travel vest.

Exofficio Women's Nomad Skirt, Midnight, 14 Review

I have about a half dozen exofficio skirts from a few years ago. This skirt fits in the waist like my other ex officio skirts of the same size, but has a much shorter zipper and a much straighter profile. So this skirt does not fit me at all at the moment.

The plum is also a bit lighter than I was hoping for. That said, the fabric is quite nice, and I like all of the pockets. Maybe I'll fit into it later.
