The Centering Gauge is essential for calibrating/adjusting the Park Tool Professional Truing Stand. The stand requires adjustment of the upright arms and the forward feeler fingers. In theory, you can substitute a perfect wheel to adjust your stand. But I have tried both and there is no hesitation in saying the Centering Gauge is superior. With this centering gauge, the accuracy of your Truing Stand can be so good that it would not be necessary to purchase a separate Dish Gauge to check your wheel alignment. I purchased the Park Tool Dish Gauge with the Truing Stand. After going back and forth with the two, I figured out it would be much easier if my Truing Stand were accurate in the first place. Hence, the Centering Gauge was purchased later. Lesson learned.

Nashbar Commuter Garment Pannier Review

In theory this was the perfect bag for me. I read reviews all over the web and so many were terrible I almost didn't buy it. In the end this is a solid bag.

I began the summer of 2011 riding my bike to work in NYC every day. I was carrying everything I needed to change into work attire in my back pack. It was pretty heavy and worse sweaty.

I found this bag through a little web searching and I thought it would work perfectly. However, the reviews were dreadful. Much of the complaints surround small little bungee cords and metal hook used to attach the bag to your bike rack. It is true the cords are hard to reach and the hooks are metal, sharp, and generally dangerous.

Here's the catch. You don't need those cords. I found a tip from a satisfied owner to just remove them and I did. The bag sits on the rack and is secured with a separate set of small, coated, rounded, and safe hooks. That would probably be sufficient but I added a ordinary bungee over the top just for giggles.

The bag is spacious and has lots of pockets. It goes on and off the rack pretty easily.

It is a bit big and a bit heavy but it also a lot of bag. Really happy with it so far and the price was very reasonable.

Pearl Izumi Women's Canyon Short, Silt, Large Review

I am mostly a road biking kind of gal and have my share of lycraspandex riding shorts. That said I now commute on my bike to work which is 5 miles each way and my bootie didn't want to bare it alone (without chamois). And I was NOT walking into work with my road cycling spandex shorts.
PROS: These shorts seem true to fit and have adjustable aspects for the waist area which is nice. These are not Short Shorts fi you know what I mean. REMOVABLE LINER with nice chamois for shorter rides. I don't think I would wear these in any ride over 30 miles. Small stylish reflective print on back side for visibility. Good quality workmanship.
CONS: Unfortunately I have to hang these in a locker all day (10 hour shift) and somedays the chamois doesn't get all the way dry and then I wear them again home.

I should note that I commute/ride 3 days a week and then do non-commuting rides 2 days per week. The removable chamois basically snaps in place and actually...I don't use the snaps. I work/live in Palo Alto, CA area so the temps and weather are not too big of deal so I can't answer those challenges for you. I should also note I'm not a skinny mini girl. I'm over 45 and tend to wear size 18 clothes. I hope this helps.
