Timex Flex Tech Digital 2.4 Heart Rate SensorTimex Digital Transmission Fabric Heart Rate Sensor and Strap Review
I ordered this replacement band and strap because the original suddenly stopped working. I tried changing the batteries, and also tried changing just the strap that I also ordered from amazon. Both of these tries did not work. So after several calls to timex, they said I should replace the transmitter as well. Viola, it works. Now for the better news for those of you who actually read these reviews. I opened the box, took out the instructions and read them (first band came with watch as a package so it had no directions for just the strap). In the instructions, it says when the battery is replaced, use a small instrument (paperclip) to push the reset button next to the battery. Well, there was NO reset button next to the battery like it said in the instructions, BUT, on the inside of the case under the battery there was a picture of of the battery upside down (- side up), "3 sec", then an arrow showing the battery right side up (+ side up). Mind you this was all on the inside of the battery compartment, under the battery... so I assume that this is a "reset" procedure.... expend the capacitors in the transmitter etc. Well, this transmitter hooked up with my watch just fine. I decided that I would try this with my old transmitter just for giggles... took battery that was in old transmitter, turned it to - side up and held in battery compartment for 3 sec, turned it + side up, put my old strap on and BAZINGA!!! the old transmitter is hooking up just fine with my watch as well. Now, keep in mind that my old transmitter has NEITHER the reset button, NOR the picture showing the above procedure. It would have been nice to have the Timex people tell me to try this rather than spend around 70$ for a new strap, new strap and transmitter, and the shipping. Soooo..... if you have this particular transmitter and strap and the connection to your watch goes a little hinky, try the above procedure before spending the money.... it just may work. I am just going to keep the replacements that I ordered, really no point in sending them back, and a second or third is always good to have around. Most of the consumer Reviews tell that the "Timex Digital Transmission Fabric Heart Rate Sensor and Strap" are high quality item.
