I like Fenix flashlights and was looking forward to getting the PD32. I already have the PD22 and was VERY happy with it. Beautiful white beam that illuminates well.

So the PD32 arrived; I opened it up; Dropped in the batteries, and was greeted by a sickly puke green beam with a lot of artifacts in it. Did some more research and discovered that the S2 LEDS are known for lack of quality control. You can get lucky and get a nice one, but the odds are significant that you will get a bad emitter and end up with a ugly discolored beam. It illuminated well and functioned well, as long as you don't mind a flashlight with a highly green beam tint.

I dumped the S2 version and bought a standard (not special edition) PD32 with the R5 emitter and I now have a superb light with a nice bright white beam.

Someone will probably post here that they bought a S2 version and their beam is perfect. It can happen, and if you are one of those people, congratulations! Just saying that the odds of getting a bad LED are higher with the S2 emitter over the R5 emitter. Your best bet is if you can try before you buy! NOTE: the S3 emitter are suppose to be even worse than the S2s.

Stick with the NON S2 version and you will be happier!
